Pancake Day is celebrated by many English speaking people throughout the world. Pancake Day is also called Shrove Tuesday and is the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent in the liturgical calendar.
The grade 5 students celebrated this English holiday by making French toast. Through this task the students learnt a number of food and cooking vocabulary words.
